Why does it seem some of the fathers don’t get fatherhood?

I ask this out of frustration! I was reading some VERY disturbing news articles that baby’s fathers hurt them, from being newborns! Don’t they want to be daddy’s why would some hurt a baby?! I have a 8 month old and can’t even think that her daddy would do anything to her! I mean biological fathers! OMG What goes thru their heads?!?!?! PLEASE seak help if you think of hurting your baby!
