People like to put together little layette or one-piece outfits to include in the basket as well. This will insure that the new baby will have a lot of little items to wear when they are first born. Its important to remember that babies grow very fast so many people may like to include items that will be useful for many months after the baby is born or also clothing that will fit them a couple months after their birth. It’s very nice to also include an array of diapers in different sizes so that the new parents have many different sizes to choose from.

Sometimes a practical gift basket is a bath themed basket. Cute items to include would be little bath toys, baby robe, hooded towel, wash clothes and other useful bath items. It seems to be easier to chose a theme for a basket and then build the basket around that theme. Sometimes people like animal themed baskets or baskets based on a certain color scheme.

Another practical thing could be a diaper cake that includes many diapers of several sizes and other useful items such as baby bottles and pacifiers. Its fun if the gender of the baby is known because you can do a pink or blue color scheme. There are also great neutral color items to put together a diaper cake, such as yellows, green and purple.

A great gift to get on a budget that is a practical present is a nice diaper bag. There are many expensive diaper bags on the market but there are very practical brands that will get the job done. The best part its not only a practical bag but its also is able to hook on to the stroller and go every where you go.

It’s important to keep in mind when you are looking to buy a baby gift on a budget to consider going in a sharing the expense of a bigger gift with someone such as buying a stroller, or a crib with a big group people. Often times people from work or a group of friends will share the big expenses to cut down the cost of a gift. Also consider practical gifts that will be useful for new parents. Consider items that were helpful for you as a parent if you already have children. Keep these tips in mind to stay on budget and on task.
