What are some “simple pleasures” that make motherhood easier?

I thought about this b/c I bought a $6 jug with a flip nozzle that I can make 3x the tea in once a week rather than making it everyother day and the flip nozzle allows my son to fix his own drinks or help fix drinks at dinner….

I love children and I love being with them, talking to them and teaching them. However, I am unsure I’ll be able to comply with all the societal expectations of motherhood, wearing demure clothes, breastfeeding, enrolling my child in all kinds of activities, spending hours with them doing their homework. I am 19 and my son is two. I do give him attention and love him the way a mother should. It still strays in my mind that I want to to something else. I am happy I had my son at this age is made me quite a better person. Is there anything I can do so I don’t feel this way?

I would say I am suprised at how strong my upper body has gotten, carrying my baby around and putting the carseat in the truck. I used to have a flab under my armpit, and now it’s gone! She’s 11 weeks and already 13 pounds!

I am more proud of what I have achieved domestically then any of the degrees and extensive experience I have had as a nurse and counselor. I am not ashamed of this gap at all…….what are some of you talking about? -just want some specific ideas how and where to include it?

I have a friend with a 3 year old and a 6 month old and she can just wake up in the morning and say to herself,”I think I’ll go get my nails done, stop by and see a friend then hit the grociery store on the way home.”
And she just seems to breeze her way through the day without any set backs!
Me on the other hand I have to plan eveything around medications, naps and try to get help. Granted I have 3 under 2, but leaving the house is just so darn hard for me! I dread doctor visits and going to the bank with my kids because something always happeneds;
poop or throw up, insane fits, injuries, ect. Why is this? Do you feel the same way?
